Dion’s blackberry downloads

A nice plug for Blogging Tories from Tim Powers on Mike Duffy Live.

Tim’s talking about the Dion ringtones / Blackberry wallpaper / Desktop wallpaper that is available for download from Blogging Tories.

Instructions, go to www.bloggingtories.ca on your mobile/blackberry and click on the Dion blackberry link.

Download the MP3 and JPG files. Set the MP3s to your ringtones and throw up a good “Dion is not a leader” pic as your Blackberry background image.

Then, when you’re in committee, or at a meeting, you will get a call and your blackberry will exclaim “Stephane Dion is not a leader”.

When you’re having a steak at Hy’s, you’ll get an email and your Blackberry will play Dion’s “Do you think it’s easy to make priorities” quote.

Get it done…

(there’s some great stuff for desktop users as well… click here browse the content. Be sure to set your MSN messenger profile picture and download the desktop wallpaper!)

Blogging from the lion’s den

I’m here! Right now I’m sitting in the media pit at the Palais de Congrès in Montreal. After a bumpy registration process, I received full media tags and proceeded directly to find restricted places to try and get into. This media pass works wonders.

James Travers is filing a report a few desks over, Jane Taber arrived and Gloria Galloway and I caught a momentary glance across the room.

Also, great news! Mike Duffy will make his triumphant return to MDL at the convention.

The buzz in the hall and among my media colleagues (now, I’m milking it) is Howard Dean’s address to delegates tonight. Who would have thought that an NRA-endorsed anti-SSM american would be so well received among Liberals?

BYAAA!

Sheila Copps out

Former Liberal leadership hopeful Sheila Copps lost her nomination bid yesterday in Hamilton East-Stoney Creek. CTV’s Mike Duffy reported that the margin of votes that separated Ms. Copps and the victor, Tony Valeri, was 315 votes. There were 5,313 ballots cast.

It appears as if Paul Martin is making every effort to usher out his predecessor’s inner circle. When Mr. Martin was leadership runner-up to Jean Chrétien in 1990 he received a cabinet post as Minister of Finance. In 2002, Ms. Copps was runner-up to Mr. Martin in the Liberal leadership race and now she’s been tossed aside. At the height of her career, she was the Liberal deputy PM. Now her party has denied her the chance to run in the next election.

I’ve heard that Valeri’s scrutineers had close ties to the PM. About 400 Liberals were turned away from the meeting and were deemed ineligible to vote. Ms. Copps’ mother and the riding association president were also challenged according to Copps.

Ms. Copps has said that she’ll take a week to “consider her options”. Before the vote she remarked, “Tony, whatever happens in this fight, we’re all believing in the building of our great party and we’ll do it together”. We’ll see if she runs as an independent as the NDP has already deemed her “damaged goods”
